Walking in a Wiki-Wonderland

Ahola All!  (Okay.. no we didn't go to Hawaii… just the library.  RATS!)

English 10: 

1. Work on your literary letters.
2. Wiki Administrators, please create folders for your team members. If you cannot create folders, send a "Help" email to the pbwiki people and let me know too. (If you want, make your team members administrators too!)
3. Edit your "notification" settings on your account profile page to stop the email from pbwiki.com
4. Finished with your Literary Letter?  Here's your list of things to do (ALL due on MONDAY BEFORE class begins)
1. ADD A WIKI PAGE/LINK IT TO YOUR PAGE:  Create a page of notes for your parallel novel.  Include the title, your current book rating, a plot summary (you should have read through page 200 by next Tuesday), etc.  Be sure to include important information about your author as well!
2. ADD A WIKI PAGE/LINK IT TO YOUR PAGE:  Then create your own page of notes for 1984.  Write a summary/explanation of the following with as many details as you can.  Use quotations from the novel as your supporting details
1. Characters (Winston, O'Brien, and Julia),
2. The "Inner Party", the Outer Party and the Proles: who they are, balance of power, roles in society
3. The party slogans & meanings
4. "Big Brother"
5. "Goldstein"
3. Register for a FREE STUDENT account on Quia.com (Click on this link to get there) and follow the instructions handed out in class.  (Pssst… if you were absent from class today, email Ms. Chan for your "Class Code".)
1. There are TWO quizzes there for you to take.  BOTH of the quizzes may be taken TWICE, and the better of your two scores will be recorded in the grade book.  The quizzes have a TIME LIMIT!  Only one hour!  You may use your notes and your 1984 book.  You can take the quizzes any time before class on Tuesday, December 2, 2008.

SPANISH 2:

You are taking an online test today and starting the second part of your "test" via your wiki.  The first part is an online multiple choice test (not timed, but may only be taken ONCE) and the second part requires you to have access to your wiki group and create a few wiki pages.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Create a FREE STUDENT account on Quia.com.  (Click on this link to get there) and follow the instructions handed out in class.  You will need YOUR class code.  Codes are specific to EACH class period, so do not enter a code given to another student in a different class.  (Pssst… if you were absent from class today, email Ms. Chan for your "Class Code".) 
2. Find your class page.  Take the online test.  The test is not timed and may require a "secret word"  that will be given to you in class.
3. Get your wiki assignment from Sra. Chan.  This assignment will count as 25 points toward your test score!
